What makes Malaysia different from any other country is the fact that there are many spoken dialects among the ethnicities of major races of Malays, Chinese, and Indians.

Just like in a recent viral video, two Chinese friends casually conversed in Malay, surprising and entertaining viewers. @xiaorou71 shared that the conversation happened spontaneously. During live sessions, people questioned her Chinese fluency without an accent, which led viewers to believe that she was not Chinese.

“Most of my Chinese friends speak fluent Malay, and they can converse in Chinese as well.”

Originating from Sarawak, she highlighted the cultural diversity by mentioning that her friend in the video, Andre, is from Sabah. This unexpected display of language skills not only challenges stereotypes but also celebrates Malaysia’s multiculturalism.
