TNB Bears Medical Costs of 12yo Boy Electrocuted While Attempting to Retrieve Ball in Penang Substation

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) will provide all assistance inclusive of bearing all medical costs of a boy who recently suffered electrocution at a substation in Penang.

TNB is expressing sympathy over the incident and said that they will ensure that the young boy gets the best treatment possible for his recovery.

The boy, aged 12, sustained severe burns across his body when he was electrocuted while attempting to retrieve a ball from a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) substation.

Members of the public found the child and moved him to safety before the fire and rescue department arrived.

In a recent post, @redzuanNewsMPB shared:

“UPDATE: TNB will provide all assistance including bearing the cost of treatment and medical necessary for the victim to receive the best treatment. TNB itself has established an internal investigation team according to the company’s operating policy that prioritizes safety.”

According to a report by Astro Awani, TNB collaborated with the police and the Energy Commission to assist with the investigation and TNB has also established an internal investigation team in line with the company’s operational policy that prioritises safety.

We hope for nothing but the best for the family and a speedy recovery for the boy.
