Anyone familiar with the Liverpool football team will definitely know of Gerry Marsden, the great voice behind the club’s official song, You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Last Sunday (January 3), it was sadly reported that the singer passed away at the age of 78.
Gerry, who was also the main star of the group, Gerry and the Pacemaker,s died after suffering from a disease. However, the disease was identified to have no relation with Covid-19.
According to his daughter, Yvette Marbeck, her late father went to the hospital on Boxing Day after tests showed he had a serious blood infection reported by the BBC.

In the Merseybeat era, Gerry and the Pacemakers were among the most popular bands in Liverpool apart from The Beatles.
According to the source, three other football clubs outside the Premier League have also adapted the famous, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” anthem. The clubs are: Celtic in the Scottish League, Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and Feyenord Rotterdam in the Dutch League Eredivisie.
