Well, we think February is definitely a good time to start checking out some artists, because this month is packed with amazing local and international acts performing all over the Klang Valley!

So, if you want a music-filled February, here are all the best music events and acts you should check out this month;

Want a relaxing night out in Bangsar filled with great local acts in an intimate setting? Then, Ril’s Bangsar’s Warehouse Sessions is one event you should check out!

Located right along Jalan Telawi, this location is definitely easily accessible for those working in the Klang Valley. Sounds like a great after-work hangout spot right?

2. Janine Annice (11th & 12th Feb)

British electro-soul artist Janine Annice is set to take the music industry by storm and is definitely the artist to watch this year. Catch what is sure to be an electrifying show where she will be reimagining some of her favourite artists’ songs this month at No Black Tie.

Performing at Pisco Bar this 15th February is an impressive, all-female lineup of DJs (Lzzy, Rimka, and Dora). Your Friday night is bound to be lit with these fantastic women spinning!

4. The Last Altimet Show (16th Feb)

Ok, we couldn’t leave this guy out of our ultimate list of music gigs! Geddit?

After announcing that he would be retiring from music last year, local rapper Altimet is taking the stage one last time to pay tribute to all of his fans who supported him along the way at “The Last Altimet Show”. So, if you’ve always wanted to see this local artist live, be sure to catch this one because it’s the last time he’ll ever perform!

American indie rock artist Mitski will be taking the stage at The Bee, Publika this month, making this her first show in KL. Plus, her hit song ‘Nobody’ was partly inspired by her experience in Malaysia! So, if you want to catch her show this 18th February, check out the details below;

Comprised of Hyuk (vocals/guitar), Im Dong-geon (bass), Lim Hyun-jae (lead guitar), and Lee In-woo (drums), Hyukoh is a refreshing escape from the mainstream K-Pop genre dominating the global charts and sheds some much-needed light on South Korea’s alternative music scene.

So, if you’re a longtime fan or just someone who’s interested in listening to new music, definitely check out Hyukoh’s KL show this month!

Performing at a special gig organised by Frisson 369 in JIRO KL this February is Grammy-nominated DJ, TOKiMONSTA.

Already on her fifth album, this Los Angeles-based DJ has collaborated with huge names in the business like Anderson Paak, Yuna, Flying Lotus, Thirsty Fish, and Skrillex and became the first female artist signed under the BRAINFEEDER label by Flying Lotus. She’s also rocked the international stage at huge festivals like Coachella, SXSW and BUKU, just to name a few.

A trained pianist, TOKiMONSTA’s unique musical style is a fusion of her classical piano influences and her love for electronic music, as well as hip-hop and R&B. So, she’s certainly not your typical DJ!

TOKiMONSTA’s genre-bending style definitely sets her apart from the pack, and her unique tunes are sure to put you in the partying mood!

Hailing from the United Kingdom, Ben Nicky is one of the biggest EDM acts to emerge over the past few years, performing at major festivals like Tomorrowland, EDC, Ultra Music Festival, and many more.

With supporting acts Chukiess & Whackboi and Boris Foong opening, this event is set to be one of the most adrenaline-fuelled gigs on this list!

Local musician Amrita Soon is releasing her new album, ‘Familiar Strangers’. She was even named “Breakout YouTube Star” in 2013 and is sure to take Malaysia by storm. You can hear all the dreamy, soothing tracks from ‘Familiar Strangers’ live at her album launch this month!

Comprised of high school friends Cameron Robertson, Joseph Wenceslao, and Karina Wykes, the trio write, produce, and perform all of their songs and have performed alongside huge acts like LANY and Clean Bandit. So, if you’re looking for the next electronic indie band to obsess over, definitely check Glades out this February!
