The Sinopharm Vaccine Is Now Available At Private Clinics & Hospitals Across M’sia

A new vaccine brand, the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine is now available in Malaysia.

According to Duopharma Biotech in a statement on Friday, its wholly-owned unit Duopharma (M) Sdn Bhd has been authorized as the registration holder of Sinopharm. The sale and distribution of the Sinopharm vaccine are now allowed in Malaysia.

The statement added that the vaccine is currently provided to those aged between 18 to 59 years old. The first batch of Sinopharm vaccines has arrived in Malaysia in September and is now available across all private clinics and hospitals in Malaysia.

Malaysia’s Drug Control Authority (DCA) has approved the conditional registration of the Sinopharm vaccine for use in the country in July this year.

“Duopharma is committed to supporting the government’s vaccination program and enhancing the National COVID-19 Immunization Program by expanding vaccine distribution channels to make sure full vaccine coverage in Malaysia,” said the Group Managing Director of Duopharma Biotech, Leonard Ariff.

As of 16 October 2021, 67.8 per cent of Malaysia’s total population has been fully vaccinated, and 75.7 per cent of the total population has gotten at least one dose of vaccine.
