Chinese actress, Fan Bingbing was appointed as the Malacca Tourism Ambassador earlier this year, and that was not her last trip to Malaysia.
Just recently, Fan Bingbing has been spending some time in Kedah to film her upcoming movie, Mother Bhumi. For her role, Fan Bingbing had to get almost knee-deep in mud as she planted rice seedlings in a paddy field in Kedah. The video was taken in June this year but was only posted on her socials last night (October 21).
The Chinese actress also highlighted the good condition of her skin and jokingly said it was due to the mud.
“My skin is fair and smooth, all thanks to the beautifying effects of the mud. Everyone should come to Kedah, Malaysia, and try planting rice seedlings, then you’ll have gorgeous skin.”
The video ended with a caption saying, “Everything is worth it for my character.”
Mother Bhumi has recently wrapped filming and Fan took the opportunity to stroll around Kedah with the man who helmed the upcoming film. Fan also shared some images of her in a Hijab at the Zahir mosque, and you can click here to see the series of images she shared during her leisure trip in Kedah.
“After filming for so long, we finally had the chance to take a stroll. While enjoying some delicious food, we also visited Kedah’s iconic attractions.”
What does Fan think of Kedah?
In a recent press conference, Fan had nothing but good words about Kedah, praising the food and the people in the state, whom she dubbed “friendly.”
“I love Kedah. The people here are very friendly, and the food is really good. I’ve tried a lot of food, with my favourite being the Kedah Char Kuey Teow.”
Fan also revealed that the director of Mother Bhumi, Chong Keat Aun was born in Kedah, and he wanted to take Fan around Kedah to explore the place.
Fan also explained that she had to get muddy and dirty for her role because to play a peasant woman, she cannot have white skin and big eyelashes.
At the time of writing, Mother Bhumi has just entered the post-production stage and has yet to have a release date.
