We’re sure now that everyone in Malaysia knows who the 1975 is and it’s definitely not for their music.
With the fiasco that they pulled on the first day of the Good Vibes Festival where they bashed the Malaysian government and made out onstage, it has been announced that their remaining shows in their Asia leg will be cancelled.
We the Fest shared a statement from the band saying that they will not be proceeding with the show.
“The 1975 regrets to announce that their forthcoming shows in Jakarta and Taipei will no longer be going ahead as planned.”
“The band never takes the decision to cancel a show lightly and had been eagerly looking forward to playing for fans in Jakarta and Taipei, but unfortunately due to current circumstances, it is impossible to proceed with the scheduled shows,” the statement reads.
Generally, many netizens in the comments sections were supportive of the cancellation and praised the organiser.
With this cancellation, the band’s tour at this side of the world has ended and they will be playing in their American leg next.
