The antics of a boy in Thailand caught the attention of the Kingdom’s citizens recently after a video of his reaction, or the lack of it, to the country’s national anthem being played left Thais in stitches.

Share by @Mr_Whathapened on X (formerly Twitter), the 50-second video has garnered over 1.3 million views and 32,000 reposts in just over 1 day.

In the video, the boy can be seen standing still mid-stride in the middle of a paved road with a bottle in his right hand.

As the person recording zooms in, the boy sticks to the pose, as if being frozen in time for another few seconds while in the background, the Thai national anthem can be heard playing from a building behind the boy.

The boy’s frozen pose then caught the attention of a girl at the building, who took her smartphone out to capture a photo.

Just as soon as the Thai national anthem finished playing, the boy then exited the pose and continued walking as if nothing happened.

The boy’s teacher told him to ‘immediately stop moving’ when the national anthem is being played

In the caption, @Mr_Whathapened revealed the reason behind the boy’s frozen pose: It’s because his teacher had previously told him that when the Thai national anthem is playing, people must ‘immediately stop moving’.

However, the boy took his teacher’s words a little too literally, as instead of just stopping and standing still to respect the national anthem, he stopped every movement in his body, as seen in the video.
