One thing that appears to be normal in Malaysia is cow theft. So much so, that residents and community members are getting tired of their cows getting stolen.
Which is why, one group decided to take matters into their own hands when they encountered an alleged cow thief.
The Kemaman district police took to their Facebook page to showcase a video of the mob overturning the car belonging to the alleged cow thief. Based on the Info Bencana Terengganu Facebook page, the car was also apparently set on fire.
The Kemaman district police wrote, “Salam Ukhwah Ramadhan, Kemaman. Let us share a video of an unusual act in the month of Ramadhan by a friend in the Neram (Terengganu) area. To clear up the confusion, we want to ask the individuals seen in this video to come to the Kemaman IPD to strengthen our friendships and to meet with the JSJ Investigating Officer who can be contacted at 010-5426362 (Insp Nadia) and 012-6966849 (Insp Ong – Acting KBSJD Kemaman).”
“Don’t be nervous or worried, be brave because of the truth. Dignities will be upheld and rights will be defended,” they added.
In the video shared by the police, the group of men can be seen overturning the car, while in a second video, the same apparent car can be seen on fire.
The Info Bencana Terengganu Facebook page has since clarified that the incident was believed to be due to cow theft.
“It is said that this is a cow theft case and they burned the car of the cow thief in Felda Neram,” they shared.
