We often take things for granted, especially when it comes to dining in at our favourite restaurants and fast food joints.

Recently, a video of a teacher taking over 30 of her students to KFC went viral. The woman named Ismaniza Fahida Ismail, also know as ‘Cik Puan Gojes’, shared the experience on her social media pages.

In the caption of the video, Fahida writes, “FIRST TIME STEPPING FOOT INSIDE A KFC.”

“Many people just say that we could’ve just taken the food and eat it in school. Something that is seen as trivial and simple for some people when in actuality, it gives them hope,” she wrote.

“At first we weren’t allowed to eat in since there were 30 of us. But I fought for it as my children wanted to experience eating in KFC. They want to know the feeling of it as they’ve never been to one let alone eat inside.”

Back story behind why she did it

In an interview with mStar, she explained that, “I initially wanted to attract the interest of the students so that they would have a full attendance at school and do all of their school work.”

“They appeared to lack interest to do, so I promised that whoever does their work, I’ll treat them and coincidentally all of them did it.”

“So I asked them what they wanted to eat and 90% of them answered KFC.”

She then started to wonder why so many of them wanted KFC and she discovered that 98% of them have never eaten or even set foot in a KFC outlet.

Fahida who is an English, Physical Education and Music teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan Syed Sheh, Kupang, Kedah said that those who have eaten it only got it because people gave it to them.

“As their teacher, I know their backgrounds, some have fathers who have died, divorced, some are orphans, so from there, their pleasures of life are comparatively less than others.”

Adorable reactions at KFC

“When we got to the KFC, they were jumping in joy, whilst some were so excited that their hands started to shake,” she mentioned.

Fahida said that one of the saddest sights she encountered was when they were so amazed to see the sauces coming out of the pumps.

“All of them were saying wow! Some were confused as to why it’s not in a bottle, that’s when it really shows that they’ve never entered a KFC store.”

She was also touched when some of her students told her that they wanted to bring some of their meals back home to give to their other family members.

“I deliberately bought a big combo for everyone because I know that people who are not privileged would want to share any food that’s good with their other family members,” she said.
