A motorcyclist died after being run over by a lorry at Jalan Taming Sari, Taiping, Perak on 27 January, reported Kosmo. The 38-year-old victim, identified as Yap Chee San, died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
According to Taiping District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Osman Mamat, the initial investigation found that the victim was riding a Yamaha motorcycle while on the way towards Taman Tasik.
As the victim rode past some cars parked at the side of the road, a 52-year-old woman in a Proton Wira suddenly opened her car door, causing the victim to hit the door.
The victim was then thrown to the middle of the road before being run over by a passing truck driven by a 53-year-old man who was on the same route.
Always make sure to check for oncoming vehicles before opening your car door to prevent accidents like this from happening. Our condolences to the victim’s family.
