SPM Students Can Apply for These Two Highly-Anticipated Scholarships Starting 19 March

News about scholarships will definitely make any SPM student happy (especially after they’ve gotten their results), because education fees these days aren’t always cheap! Which is why we’re delighted to tell you that the application for these two highly-anticipated scholarships are open today!

Starting 19 March, 2017 SPM students can apply for the ‘P9A+’ Scholarship and the Special Programme for Japan, Korea, France and Germany Year 2018 Scholarship, PM Najib Razak announced yesterday. Here are some details you should know before applying for either one of them.

 

1. ‘P9A+’ Scholarship

Terms and conditions:

a. Applicants must score at least 9 A+ in SPM
b. Must be Malaysian
c. Applicants’ family members should not be blacklisted by JPA or currently face any legal action by JPA
d. Students who are applying for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy must be healthy and free from chronic diseases such as Hepatitis, AIDS, and HIV

Students who successfully receive the full scholarship can opt to study at public or private universities in Malaysia. The online application will open on 19 March at 6pm.

2. Special Programme for Japan, Korea, France, and Germany Year 2018 Scholarship

Under this scholarship, successful applicants will be offered convertible loans, which means:

a. The loan will be converted into full scholarship if the student serves in the Public Service Department (JPA)

b. Repayment of 25 per cent of the loan is required if the student serves in a government-linked company

c. Repayment of 50 per cent of the loan is required if the student serves in a local private company

d. Full repayment is required if none of the above situations is applicable to the student

Shortlisted students can opt to join one of these courses at these countries:

i) Engineering in Japan, Korea, France or Germany
ii) Science and Technology in Korea or Germany
iii) Social Science in France 

The online application is already up and running and will be closed on 26 March at 5pm. Any application submitted after the closing date will not be entertained and the results will be disclosed on 11 May at 5pm.
