Plastic surgery is so common in South Korea that it’s practically tradition for parents to give plastic surgeries to their children who are transitioning from high school to university as gifts.

To them, university life is the beginning of their career path. From graduating with flying colours, to landing a job in a fantastic multinational company, being aesthetically pleasing is a must in between all this.

Besides, picture-perfect celebrities might also be a major contributing factor in this nation’s obsession for looking ‘perfect’.

One of the most common type of cosmetic surgery procedure in this country is to contour the shape of the jaw.

This will allow patients to have a V-shape jaw and slimmer looking face – the type of face that South Koreans really adore.

And it is probably one of the most common procedure done in this particular clinic. So much so, they decided to exhibit all the jaw shavings into two glass displays!

Wow…what a jaw-dropping sight!

Thankfully, there were multiple complaints about the atrocious pillars of removed jaw bones, Koreaboo reported.

The clinic was charged 3 million Won (RM11,622) on the charge of violating the Medical Waste Control Act where they should have safely and hygienically gotten rid of any bones or tissues from their premises.

South Korea is so well-known for plastic surgery that the country has even become a hub for foreigners to visit on medical holidays.

Aside from jaw-contouring, double eyelid surgery, nose job, teeth-capping, and even forehead augmentation are popular cosmetic procedures there.

In addition to the gruesome picture of jaw bones being displayed in a glass container, a South Korean netizen even posted pictures of freshly removed jaw bones!

It still had blood and tissue all over it…

Gross!

After much complaints from the online community, the pictures have since been removed. Thank goodness…

Plastic surgery used to be known as a procedure to restore and reconstruct a person who went through some sort of trauma – for example, accidents, falls, or any kind of inflicted wounds.

Now, however, plastic surgery has become a synonym to becoming better looking.

Given the opportunity to make yourself look ‘prettier’ or ‘more handsome’, would you go through these procedures?
