There’s no doubt that we Malaysians LOVE our sneakers and streetwear. Which is why we weren’t surprised (but still extremely psyched!) to find out that our favourite BIGGEST sneaker lifestyle convention in Malaysia is kicking its way back into our lives!
SneakerLAH 2023 returns bigger and better than ever with its new home @ MITEC (Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre) from 7 – 8 October, 12PM – 10PM.
With renowned Malaysian artist/designer Muntasir Mohamed at the helm of SneakerLAH 2023’s visual theme, for sure this year will be as awesome! What do you expect from someone who designed for the likes of Billionaire Boys Club, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo and Nas? ?
Plus, there are plenty of new additions to this year’s installment. Here’s the down-low of what you can expect from SneakerLAH 2023.
1. Get your kicks (and music) on with ConcertLAH
This year, SneakerLAH is finally introducing its very own full-fledged bona fide concert with ConcertLAH, featuring local and global music acts you won’t wanna miss. Happening right next door to SneakerLAH on 7 October (8PM), the headliners of the inaugural concert include:
a) Lee Hi: Korean soul songstress
b) ALYPH: Rapper, producer and songwriter of Lion City
c) ForceParkBois: Malaysian rap super group
d) Ethan Low: Toronto-based Malaysian R&B crooner
e) Trinidad James (Full Size Run): Special guest
That’s not all! Those who got their tickets for ConcertLAH will also gain entry to SneakerLAH – basically two-in-one tickets~
For non-ConcertLAH goers, you can still get your dose of weekend vibes at SneakerLAH itself, with plenty of live music performances from local artists like hotshot rap collective 53 STU; popular sneaker content creators Hans Abdullah and FZHD; and DJ sets by I-Sky, Naufal b2b Aidaho, Alfie Rrari, Mia, and Coffeeboy Records.
2. New Vintage Corner, same old marketplace
With the rising popularity of sustainable and highly individualised fashion, SneakerLAH is keeping up with the times by introducing Vintage Corner, a dedicated space for vintage clothing enthusiasts.
Vintage Corner is the place to be for rare vintage collectibles and is part of SneakerLAH’s famed marketplace. Over 60 vendors and resellers will buka kedai at MITEC, whom attendees can purchase, sell, and trade the hottest and rarest sneakers and streetwear items with.
Plus, Japanese footwear/sportswear brand ASICS will be making a comeback to SneakerLAH 2023, alongside other international and local brands like Skechers, Patta, Keen, Crossover, Against Lab, Futuremade, Nerd Unit, TNTCO, The Capcity and many more who will be opening shop at the two-day event.
3. More style to be had!
Hold onto your sneakers, because there will be plenty of exciting activities at SneakerLAH 2023 that are PERFECT for streetwear fashionistas, such as:
a) Rare Pairs exhibition
This exclusive exhibition by renowned local sneaker collector B53 lets you view some of the world’s rarest sneakers in person.
b) Kicks on Wheels
A Motorsport Playground-led exhibition that showcases iconic sports cars reimagined as popular sneakers.
c) Patta World Tour
A documentary of iconic Dutch streetwear brand Patta will be screened at SneakerLAH, with founder Edson Sabajo making an appearance too.
d) Full Size Run hosts as special guests!
