Good news folks! The Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad’s (KTMB) express commuter service between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur will be back in service starting this Wednesday (July 25)!

According to NST, the service, which was cancelled a few years ago, will be reinstated to provide the public with an easy and efficient travel alternative between Seremban and Kula Lumpur.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said that the Seremban-Kuala Lumpur express commuter service was one of the issues discussed in the KTMB meeting a month ago, and it was agreed that the service should resume due to a tremendous increase in the number of train users between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur.

“The majority of Seremban folk who travel to Kuala Lumpur every day for work rely on public transport services (especially the commuter services).”

“We believe that the reintroduction of the express commuter service will be very beneficial to them,” he said.

The service from Seremban will be available on weekday mornings, leaving Seremban station at 7.08am, stopping at Nilai station at 7.25am, before reaching KL Sentral at 8.19am.

As for the KL Sentral-Seremban route, the train will leave KL Sentral at 5.55pm and reach Nilai station at 6.50pm, before arriving at Seremban station at 7.10pm.

“The service can ferry 1,118 passengers per trip,” Loke added.

Passengers will be able to enjoy a shorter and more efficient journey between Kuala Lumpur and Seremban with just a cost of RM8.70 per trip. Affordable!

Furthermore, Loke said that the ministry will look into plans to expand the express commuter services in other locations.

“We have to look into KTMB’s capacity before this can be done. In terms of the services’ punctuality, the ministry will monitor the situation with KTMB, which will be required to submit reports to the ministry.”

Now that the Seremban-Kuala Lumpur express commuter service is reintroduced, travelling is certainly going to be a lot easier for those who frequently commute between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur.

Remember not to miss the train this Wednesday (July 25)!
