Antiques plays a significant role in preserving history, cultures and heritage. And, they’re also a rarity. Hence, finding out that your antique items have been stolen, as compared to modern items like smart phones and laptops, can be a painful experience.

A hotel in Sarawak is now seeking the help of the general public to track down 2 antique cannons, after they were stolen from their entrance.

The hotel, Telang Usan Hotel, took to their Facebook page to broadcast their plea while showcasing CCTV footage of the theft.

They wrote, “Dear valued guests and patrons, we were very sad to find 2 of our beautiful antique cannons stolen this morning (June 5).”

“If anyone has seen or heard anything, or finds any antique cannons for sale that looks like ours, we would really appreciate your help. We are willing to offer a reward for any lead that helps us to get our cannons back!”

CCTV footage shows 3 men arriving at the hotel’s entrance in a white car at around 2:20am.

While the driver waited by the car (acting as a getaway driver), the other 2 men disappeared out of the camera frame and soon after returned to the car with the cannons.

They then drove away with the stolen antiques.

If you do, in fact, have any information in regards to the stolen antique cannons; or have seen ones for sale that look like the ones that belong to the hotel, you should do the right thing.

“If you have any information that can help us, please contact us at this number, +6011-1198 6001. Your kind help is much appreciated,” Telang Usan Hotel added.

We genuinely hope that the hotel gets their antique cannons back!
