With the rise in cost of living, the prices of basic necessities such as food and even rent have gone through the roof. It is no longer surprising anymore to see super tiny rooms being offered for high rental prices.
Recently, a Twitter user took to the platform to share a listing for a room they had found online.
In a screenshot of the listing for the single-bedroom apartment unit available for rent on Roomz.Asia, the room is classified as a single bedroom actually located on the balcony of the apartment unit.
Based on the design, it could be assumed that the owner had made a partition and turned the small space in the balcony area into a bedroom.
The accommodation which is located at Menara U2 is nearby the Management & Science University in Shah Alam.
According to the listing, the facilities for the apartment include:
- High-speed internet
- Modern room with Smart Lock
- Fully furnished room with air-conditioner, bed, pillow, study table, chair, and wardrobe.
- Water dispenser
- Fridge
- Washing Machine
- Shared Bathroom with water heater
- Housekeeping (Common area)
- Swimming Pool
- Gym
- NO HIDDEN CHARGES like admin fees, access card deposits, tenancy agreement fees, or processing fees.
So small!
The post has since gone viral. Netizens were both shocked and amused by the small size of the room. Some were also not happy with the renting price of RM600 a month for a “fully furnished” apartment unit with a bedroom that small as they could get the same price for a better unit somewhere else.
“600 per month. You gotta be kidding me.”
“The space is so minimal, you can hardly move around in there,” commented a user.
Meanwhile, a couple of users actually said that they wouldn’t mind living in the room and that it’s a steal.
“This is the size of a room in the new condos in Singapore, perhaps slightly larger. So it’s a steal in my opinion,” said another user.
What do you think? Would you ever live in a room that size? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
