Those commuting in and around Kuala Lumpur, this one is for you!

Due to a huge fallen tree at Jalan Sultan Ismail in KL (that has caused damages to several vehicles), monorail services at certain stations have been suspended.

Rapid KL took to their Facebook page to share the announcement.

Monorail 2

They wrote, “Monorail Line: All Monorail services between Hang Tuah Station and Medan Tuanku Station has been suspended temporarily due to a fallen tree.”

But fret not, for they have came up with some alternative journeys that you can consider for your commute.

Passengers may use the alternative services as listed below:

  • KL Sentral to LRT KL Sentral or MRT National Museum
  • Hang Tuah to LRT Hang Tuah
  • Bukit Bintang to MRT Bukit Bintang
  • Bukit Nanas to LRT Dang Wangi
  • Titiwangsa to LRT and MRT Titiwangsa

“We apologise for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience,” Rapid KL added.

In the meantime, certain train service frequencies have been updated to accommodate the fallen tree.

Here are the rail frequency update:

  • Kelana Jaya Line: 3 minutes
  • Ampang/Sri Petaling Line: 3 minutes (for Central Business District), 6 minutes (for non-Central Business District)
  • Monorail: Service Delay
  • Kajang MRT Line: 5 minutes
  • Putrajaya MRT Line: 5 minutes

So, don’t forget to plan your journey, and do expect trains and their stations to be extra jam packed due to this issue.
