“Putrajaya felt buildings shaking” M’sians Around Klang Valley Felt Tremors From North Sumatra Earthquake

A moderate earthquake shook North Sumatra today, at 1.19pm earlier.

Based on a report by Kosmo!, The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) shared that the 5.6 Richter scale quake could also be felt around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

MetMalaysia also took to their Facebook page to showcase details of the earthquake.

Earthquake 4

Coordinates: 1.3° North dan 99.4° East
Magnitude : 5.6 Richter scale
Distance : 18km Southeast of Padang Sidempuan, Indonesia
Depth : 19 km

“There is no tsunami threat to Malaysia,” they added.

Meanwhile, Malaysians took to social media to share that they too felt the earthquake.

This comment goes, “Seri Kembangan felt it too, the swaying. The house on the 10th floor shook, after the Azan Zohor.”

Earthquake 2

This comment says, “Putrajaya also felt buildings shaking earlier, while the Azan Zohor was resounding.”

Earthquake 3

This comment reads, “Bukit Jalil, the 8th floor felt the shaking too.”

Other locations netizens have reported feeling the earthquake include Shah Alam, Kajang 2, Kota Damansara, Taman Kinrara, Pandan Indah, Jalan Dutamas 3 and more.
