The failure of the Public Works Department (JKR) to fix the severely damaged road at the industrial zone of Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Klang, has caused major disappointment among many including Port Klang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Azmizam Zaman Huri.

The ADUN has since taken to his TikTok page to chastise the Director General of JKR, Datuk Ir. Roslan Ismail for his department’s inaction in fixing the road and threatened to hold a protest until he resigns.

Azmizam wrote, “Let’s press YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Roslan Bin Ismail (the Director General of the Public Works Department of Malaysia) to act immediately to solve the problem of the damaged road that has been left for too long, at the corner of the road entering Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Port Klang.”

This all comes after the ADUN allegedly received countless complaints from the general public daily about the road.

In his video, he pointed out how JKR’s “weakness” caused a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a lorry last week.

“To Dato’, who was appointed last June, and the Minister who came down (and inspected the location) in November of last year, when will this problem be solved? Dato’, come down and see the condition of the damaged road full of potholes yourself lah,”

“Today is a weekend (Sunday) at 5:40pm. This is the (best) time to repair the damaged road because tomorrow is a working day. Who is the appointed contractor and where are the officers?” he asked, adding that the road is utilised by the 45,000 residents of Bandar Sultan Suleiman.

He then gave the Director General an ultimatum.

He then gave the Director General a week to fix the road or he would invite those who commute via the damaged road, including drivers of heavy vehicles such as lorries and containers, to protest until the road is fixed or until the Director General resigns.

“I will invite them and we will all protest until the road (fixture) is completed or until Dato’ resigns.”
