A Muslim-smoked meat seller in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, had the shock of her life after discovering that her business was listed as a “pork seller” on a website.
The smoked meat seller, Azimah Abdul Malik, said that on 29 December, she was alerted to the matter via a WhatsApp message from a customer who had come across it on a website called ‘porkshopnearme.my’. Azimah was perplexed to find that her business, Anjung Salai, was not only labelled as a pork-based business on the website, but was also dubbed the “best pork shop.”

Anjung Salai was not the only Halal business listed as a pork seller on the website
In Azimah’s Facebook post detailing the incident, she said that she came across many Halal business names on the website, which was reportedly established in July 2025.
Azimah, who is baffled by the matter, labelled the creator of the website “harsh, insensitive, and rude.”

Azimah had reported the matter to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
In her post, Azimah also urged the public to share the matter to create awareness.
“I don’t know what the motives of the website owner are, which is clearly a directory website selling pork, but listing Muslim-owned companies there can clearly damage the image of Muslim products and cause confusion,” Azimah stated.

According to Sinar Harian, Azimah, who has been in the business for 7 years now, said that this had never happened to her, as it was her first time encountering such a matter.
She was disappointed to find the images of her business being included with inaccurate and false information on the website.
In her Facebook post this morning (31 December), Azimah reminded public figures, influencers, and the media to fact-check before reviewing her business, as well as other Halal businesses.
