The long-awaited Budget 2023 was finally tabled today at the Parliament by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the PM and the Minister of Finance. While Budget 2023 may be good news to many, some have expressed their dissatisfaction towards the content of the budget.

Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Wan Ahmad Fayhsal is among the group of people who is not a fan of Budget 2023, and he cites it as “something too good to be true.”

“It was dull and disappointing. It was full of sweet promises, as if Budget 2023 will do the economy any good.”

Wan also slammed Budget 2023 for offering little to zero help to the Bumiputera, especially to those in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah. He said that the Bumiputera & Malays in those states were not even allocated incentives which will help them grow economically.

“It’s all about the never-ending political revenge”

In his Facebook post last night (February 24), just a few hours after the tabling of Budget 2023, Wan pointed out that the budget that was presented by Anwar was nothing but merely a form of “revenge politics”. This is because there were NO allocations to any of the members of the opposition, which was a violation of one of the Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) manifestos during GE15.

“PH promised to be fair in terms of all the allocations. It was all a lie, just like what they promised about PTPTN,” he said.

Wan continued to highlight the FELDA settlers, whose debts have been settled by former PM, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, which has now been cancelled.

“Why cancel good things? Is it because those FELDA settlers voted for PN during the GE?”

Wan then made a comparison with the fate of the people in Penang, in which he described the state as “DAP’s stronghold”.

“Airport in Penang gets to be improved, but the airport project in Kulim, Kedah was cancelled.”

He then said more flaws in Budget 2023 will be debated in the Parliament next week.
