Every career deserves the same amount of respect, regardless of how successful you may be. There’s never a good reason to belittle anyone just because you think your job is better than theirs, or if you think you truly contribute to society.

Everyone who’s committed to their work pours a lot of heart, sweat, and blood to make the job well done. For a burger vendor in Penang, his sincerity in serving his customers has always been well-received, until he met an uncle who thought it was fine to judge him. Recently, a Malaysian named Everlyn took to her social media to share how she witnessed an uncle who told his grandson about the “lowlife” of running a burger stall.

Little did the uncle know, the burger vendor that he was happily judging turned out to be Everlyn’s son.

“Do you see this? This is how you’ll struggle if you don’t study hard.”

Her son heard it loud and clear but kept his cool.

“He gave the burgers to the uncle and continued to prepare remaining orders.”

That night, after the mother and son closed the stall, Everlyn decided to assure her son about how well he was doing.

“I understand how you felt, but sometimes, you just have to ignore what others have to say about you. You’re doing well, keep up the good work!”

At the end of her Facebook post, Everlyn made it clear that every career deserves respect, and it’s not important how we appear in the eyes of others but how we perceive ourselves.

“My sons are independent, and I’m always proud of them”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Everlyn said that she had no time to respond to the judgmental uncle who belittled her son as the pair was busy preparing the orders.

“I didn’t like what I heard and I felt bad, but both of us were occupied at that time.”

Everlyn, who runs a popcorn business helps her son at his stall from time to time explained that she’s proud to have 2 sons who have always been independent and rarely rely on her when it comes to buying what they want.

“They work hard to buy their own phones, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and even their own houses,” she said.

Everlyn also told WORLD OF BUZZ that she doesn’t really think there is right or wrong in this matter, but her motive for the posting was to remind her son (and everybody else) about words and respect.

“Think before you say something, and respect the sacrifice in every career.”

No one deserves to be judged, and no one has the right to judge others. If it’s honest work and if it puts food on the table, what’s the harm?
