Previously, it was reported that a bomb exploded in the parking lot of a commercial area in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, at about 6 AM on Monday (22 December). This then led the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to discover several explosives, including a second bomb, which the authorities safely detonated.
Now, it has been revealed that a residence raided in connection with the bombs was being used as a laboratory to produce improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Residence in Negeri Sembilan was used as a lab to build bombs, PDRM reveals
According to a statement by the Negeri Sembilan Police, Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad shared that they had discovered several IEDs in the house.
“Regarding the development of the explosion case in Desa Palma, the investigation conducted led to the discovery of a large number of devices and components suspected to be IEDs in various shapes and sizes in an identified house. In this regard, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) team was mobilised to implement appropriate security measures, including the controlled destruction of the devices using the in-situ method,” he said.
They also found that the suspect possesses the technical expertise required to manufacture these devices.

“The suspect is believed to have technical knowledge and specific skills in making explosives based on the discovery of the devices and equipment that were seized. All case items have been sent to the Chemistry and Forensics Department for further analysis.”
Manhunt launched for suspect
After recording the statements of 14 witnesses and obtaining CCTV footage in the surrounding area, the police are now tracking a Malaysian man.

“In this regard, the police are tracking down a local Chinese man known as Yeoh Hock Sun, aged 62 and holder of the identity card number 631008-03-5605, to assist in the investigation of this case.”
“The individual in question is wanted to assist in the investigation of this case under Section 4 of the Corrosive Substances, Explosives and Scheduled Weapons Act 1958 and Section 435 of the Penal Code,” he added.
Alzafny Ahmad has since assured that precautionary measures will continue to be enhanced through close monitoring and strengthening the level of security preparedness, especially for public programmes and events.
