As we all know, there will be a lot of police presence on roads in KL as they are holding a massive integrated traffic operation to curb various traffic offences.
Just yesterday (15 July), PDRM conducted a roadblock for motorcyclists at the Sungai Besi – Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) from 12 to 2 am and they managed to issue 109 summonses!
According to Sin Chew Daily, the operation was conducted to check for wrongdoings on the road that could result in accidents. It is also to curb criminal activity.
Ampang Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam said that they managed to identify 4 motorcycles whose structure has been modified. The vehicles and the riders were then brought back to the police station for documentation.
“All the vehicles were confiscated according to Section 64 (1) of the Road transport Act 1987 and Section 6 (4) of the same act.”
There were also 109 summonses issued for wrongdoings such as having expired licences, overdue road tax, and illegal modifications among others.
The district police chief also advised all road users especially motorcycle riders to not make any modifications to the structure of the vehicles as it can cause accidents.
Remember to drive safely to avoid any accidents, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
