These days, you can buy anything online, including furniture. Some would even say that it’s more affordable to buy things online.

But as a buyer, how often can you trust these online stores when you can’t even see the products or the seller in person?

They wrote, “Be careful when buying furniture on Facebook. Online scammers are now actively advertising furniture and electrical appliances to deceive victims.”

How the scam works is that once the victim banks in the deposit to the scammer, the Facebook page will either be taken down, or the victim’s Facebook page will end up getting blocked by the scammer.

Any negative review or comments warning others of the scam will be deleted.

They also added that the bank account used by these scammers to receive payments are mule accounts and urge the general public to double-check on the legitimacy of online sellers, especially when the sales are happening through applications such as Facebook and WhatsApp.

You really can’t trust a lot of people online these days.
