Amidst the Wuhan epidemic outbreak, China has been working extra hard to deal with the situation. From building new hospitals to converting existing public facilities into treatment centres for the large and growing number of coronavirus patients, it can be said that no expense was spared.

According to Shanghaiist, one of these places is the Wuhan International Convention and Exhibition Centre that is able to hold 1,600 beds for the patients.  The facility is used for treating those with mild symptoms.

While Wuhan plans to convert a total of 11 of these types of places into “shelter hospitals”, we can’t help but think about how the patients there are being treated.

Well, China Press reported that the situation is not looking good as almost a thousand people are being enclosed in one area with the lack of medical staff to go around.

Patients have been moved from hospitals to the Wuhan Exhibition Centre where a power outage occurred.

There are also no doctors or nurses assigned to the centre to administer medicine in addition to a lack of oxygen equipment.

Breakfast is served in very small portions while 1,000 people have to share one toilet that has not been cleaned.

Additionally, patients can be heard coughing one after the other, making it harder for them to recover from their illness.

It’s great that China has been active in making more space so that infected patients have a place to be treated, but not in conditions like this!
