Last Friday (4 March) a gala dinner with 800 people in Johor was organised by the state’s Chinese business community.
Those present at the dinner included Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, its secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, the party’s Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal and Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau.
Now, PN leaders have been slammed by former PAS Syura Council secretary Datuk Dr Khairuddin Aman Razali as the gala dinner included a dance performance by “scantily dressed” dancers.
On a post via Facebook, Khairuddin said that their performance was inappropriate for Muslim political leaders to watch and demanded a public apology.

“Although the event was organised by non-Muslims, it is inappropriate for scantily clad dancers (‘ala bogel’) to perform for Muslim political leaders,” he said.
“This contradicts the values of Malaysian society. An official public apology must be made immediately by the political leaders.”
He added that it was important for PN leaders to apologise given that the matter could tarnish the image of their political partners and the coalition’s principles.
“This comes at a time when the Johor election campaign is in full swing,” he explained.
Yesterday, PN executive secretary Saiful Adli Mohd Arshad clarified what the event was, amid speculation on social media that the event had a political agenda.
“The event was not organised by PN. The Johor Chinese business community organised it and the presence of PN leaders was by invitation,” he said.
