To those who dread waking up early and wish someone would help send your kids to school, this is possible… in China.
Some parents opt for food delivery rider to send their kids to school and according to a viral Douyin post, it is an ongoing trend! Many parents share their experiences of asking food delivery drivers to take their children to school. One of the kids was asked by the rider about the reason, to which he simply told the rider,
“They are lazy to get up.”
A rider recently posted a video online, recording the entire process of him receiving an order to “send children to school.”
The riders would send photos of the kids to the parents after dropping them off
Some parents admitted to feeling exhausted from work and not getting enough sleep, while others casually admitted that they were just too lazy to get up in the morning, especially when the weather was perfect to sleep in.
One of the parents said she had confidence in the food delivery rider to send her kid to school and even praised the rider for a job well done.
“He would send me pictures of my kids arriving safely at school. I really find it hard to wake up at 6 or 7 in the morning.”
What convinced the parent even more was that she could track the rider’s location and “delivery” progress via an application on her phone. For the service, she paid the rider RMB52 (approximately RM32).
In the video, it was also explained that some of the riders in China have been receiving orders for a “delivery on the spot,” with the location set from the house to the primary schools nearby. Another parent also shared a screenshot of her “order”, showing her kid leaving home with the food delivery rider.
One of the riders said he would only pick up if the location was near him, and he would call the kid to make sure he was ready while the rider made his way there.
To our readers who have kids, do you think the food delivery here should make this service available?
