Ramadhan is merely 2 months away, which means some Muslims are already getting ready to embrace an entire month of fasting. As for the PAS Youth in Pahang, one of the preparations includes saying no to music festivals.

In a statement released this morning (January 14) by Mohd Zarimi bin Abu Zin, the Chief of PAS Youth in Pahang, he is calling for the ban of the Kuantan Music Festival, which is scheduled for February 24, 2024, 15 days before the annual fasting for Muslims begins.

“No sensitivities at all!”

Zarimi said that the organization of such music festivals shows no sensitivity, especially towards the Palestinians who are still suffering due to the ongoing war between the country and Israel.

“What’s the rationale? We’re straying far from religion, and we’re being invited for entertainment without reflecting on the fate of the Palestinians. Enough is enough!”

The Kuantan music festival will feature local artists and Indonesian singers.

He also urged the state government to cancel such events for the betterment of Pahang and said the party will continue to highlight Islamic values, as emphasised in PAS’ constitution.

“The excessive entertainment is spreading like cancer in Pahang, and we take this matter seriously.”

Do you think the state government will accept the call?
