Aside from your birthday, your wedding day is also one of those rare days where you’ll be showered and pampered with gifts. We’re used to seeing hampers, chocolates, or fancy things being arranged at the gift section, but come to think of it, what if we bring something that’s not fancy but useful for the newlyweds?
A Malaysian make-up artist, Atie recently shared a glimpse of her wedding via her TikTok, where many of the visitors brought their respective gifts for the bride and groom. Nothing fancy and if we’re being honest, the gifts will be useful for the lovebirds down the road.
Guests brought gifts like laundry basket, dishware racks, a broom, a mop, sponge to do the dishes, and even a plunger, which was handed over by an adorable little girl!
The guest who gave them the broom also hilariously imitated the act of sweeping the floor before handing the gift over. Truthfully, the rare (but useful) gifts have saved the newlyweds a lot of time, effort, and money. One of the guests even gave them packs of salt, and we know how essential it is when it comes to cooking.
And let’s be honest, deep down, many of us are hoping for gifts that we can use with our life partner after the wedding.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Atie, who recently got married said the wedding took place in Kodiang, Kedah. When asked about the gifts, Atie admitted that she did not see those presents coming, which was a surprise carefully planned by her family.
“My aunties and other relatives got together and made it happen.”
Marriage life is not always easy but safe to say that Atie’s family and relatives have done their part in saving the newlyweds the trouble of shopping for essentials at home. Should this be the trend-setter to give home essentials as wedding gifts?
