Taking to Twitter, this netizen bravely admitted to becoming a sexual harassment victim, calling others to be extremely careful especially in the area that he became a victim of, the MRT Pasar Seni station.

In his tweet, he began with: Boys and girls of all ages, please be careful when you are out and about on your own.”

“I was sexually harassed by this uncle (wearing black), yesterday, at MRT Pasar Seni and everytime I think about it, it makes me sick to my stomach.”

“I was waiting for the train bound for Kajang, when all of a sudden this uncle approached me. He walked directly towards me, mumbling something under his breath.”

“At first I thought he wanted to ask for directions, so I took out my earphones and started asking him if there’s anything I could help him with.”

“But boy was I wrong.”

From this moment on, the man asked him if he was Malay, to which he answered yes.

The man asked: “Have you ever had fun?”

“What kind of fun are you referring to?

At this moment the man started to rub his shoulder, disregarding the fact that the train station was full of passengers as it was during rush hour.

Threatening to call the auxiliary police, the man simply shrugged the threat off, and went away soon after.

“When my train arrived, I did not board it because I was still in shock. I went to the toilet, threw up and finally took my train home afterwards.”

Garnering more that 698k views, 4,883 retweets, netizen commenting on the thread shared words of encouragement, saying that sexual harassment can happen to anybody.

Let’s stop this at its core by being more proactive if a person feels uncomfortable in the presence of another, especially in public spaces where we can make a difference.
