A recent post has caught the internet’s attention after a group of firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Department were called to a home over a monitor lizard that had entered the bathroom.
Taking to Threads, one of the abang bomba, @fireborn.lethal, recalled how the lizard had already dived into the toilet bowl by the time they arrived at the house.

While waiting for the monitor lizard to resurface, the firefighters decided to lend a hand with the homeowner’s child’s Jawi homework for her home-based learning (PDPR) lessons.
Photos shared in the post showed the abang bomba sitting with the child and helping her with some colouring.
“There was an emergency call involving a monitor lizard that had entered a bathroom. When we got there, the little fella had already dived into the toilet bowl.
“So, while waiting for the monitor lizard to resurface, we helped out where we could. We took care of the monitor lizard situation and even helped the child with her homework,” the post read.
“The monitor lizard escaped through the toilet which led to the river”
The abang bomba added that the homeowner also treated the firefighters to some dadih (milk pudding).
“The only problem was that when it comes to reading, my colleague and I are pretty much on the same level. Neither of us is particularly good at reading Jawi, but somehow, that night, we ended up as part-time tutors,” he joked.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, the abang bomba revealed that they were unfortunately unable to catch the monitor lizard, as it had escaped through the toilet, which led directly to the river behind the house.
