Artificial intelligence is reshaping economies, industries and the stock market, and Malaysia sits right at the centre of the semiconductor story. If you want to understand what the AI and semiconductor boom means for your money, The 2026 Investor Day is the place to be. Hosted by icapital.biz Berhad and Capital Dynamics, it returns to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on 31 October and 1 November with two days built to help you listen, understand and invest.
Since 2010, Investor Day has been a non-profit event empowering individual investors with the right attitudes toward business, investment and life. It draws thousands of investors every year and offers a rare chance to engage directly with CEOs and senior management of listed companies. Here is what to look forward to.
Day 1 (Saturday, 31 October): The AI Revolution, What Happens to Malaysia?
On Saturday, Day 1 of The 2026 Investor Day, Tan Teng Boo delivers the talk no one else in this country dares, can or will give.

Tan Teng Boo is the Managing Director of Capital Dynamics, the Designated Person of icapital.biz Berhad and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Sydney. A fund manager licensed in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia, he saw the power of the Internet to connect natural and artificial intelligence as early as 2007.
In a session that asks whether Malaysians will wake up to a Malaysia they won’t recognise, he warns that AI is not just another technology wave but a magnifying glass on everything already strained. He will examine its impact across four pillars: politics, economics, business and society. Expect questions few dare to ask, including what happens to our gig workers when driverless technology arrives, and whether your children should still go to university.
The session runs from 2:30PM to 5:30PM and is free admission, but seats are limited. Full details are available at invday.icapital.biz.
Day 2 (Sunday, 1 November): Investing in the AI and Semiconductor Boom
If Day 1 sets the big picture, Day 2 gets down to the money. Running from 8:40AM to 6:00PM across two parallel tracks, it lets you move between sessions and build the day around what matters most to you. Here are six highlights.

1. 9 listed companies on Bursa Malaysia, straight from the management
Rarely do investors get to question the people running the companies. On Day 2, the management of 9 listed companies on Bursa Malaysia will present their growth stories, including:
- Mi Technovation: from die sorting to AI vision inspection for advanced packaging. Speakers:
- Kevin Tan, CEO, Semiconductor Material BU, Mi Technovation Berhad
- Teo Chee Kheong, CEO, Semiconductor Equipment BU, Mi Technovation Berhad
- Yvonne Pow, Business and Financial Controller, Semiconductor Material BU, Mi Technovation Berhad
- Travis Seet, CFO, Semiconductor Equipment BU, Mi Technovation Berhad
- Oppstar (Tan Chun Chiat, Co-founder and COO): can an IC design house scale into proprietary IP?
- Coraza Integrated (Lim Teik Hoe, Managing Director): the precision frames and structures behind semiconductor equipment.
- 3Ren (Koh Dim Kuan, CEO): a critical link in smart semiconductor manufacturing, from post-silicon validation to factory automation.
- Edelteq (Chin Yong Keong, CEO): burn-in boards, consumables and test equipment for IC assembly, with revenue up over 200%.
- Aemulus (Wong Shee Kian, CTO): can a 20-year smartphone testing player pivot to capture the AI boom?
- Kelington Group (Lim Seng Chuan, CEO): the engineering backbone of the semiconductor boom, with a record tender book.
- Hibiscus Petroleum (Dr Pascal Hos, Country Head, Malaysia & Vietnam): is its growth momentum resilient enough to outlast elevated oil prices?
- icapital.biz Berhad (Analysts from Capital Dynamics): Value investing in an AI world and a dividend policy that mathematically guarantees a payout every year. How can share owners benefit from icapital.biz Berhad?
2. US vs China: who wins the chip race?
US restrictions pushed China to build her own semiconductor ecosystem, and a second one now rises alongside the US-led one. Will China succeed? Where does Malaysia fit? Capital Dynamics analysts, led by Tan Teng Boo, tackle China’s Semiconductor Ecosystem and Outlook and National Semiconductor Strategy and 2 Semicon Ecosystems.
3. Data centres and the AI cycle
AI runs on data centres, and data centres run on staggering amounts of power. Tan Mun Lin, Deputy Group CEO of Capital Dynamics, explains how AI became the driver of the semiconductor boom in From Boom to Bottleneck, then joins analysts for Data Centres: The Necessary Evil Powering the AI Revolution to ask where the real investment opportunities are.
4. Is investing in a plantation company the same as investing in a semicon company?
Different businesses. Different cycles. Surprisingly similar lessons. Investment analysts from Capital Dynamics unpack what a plantation company and a semiconductor company really have in common, and what it means for the way you invest.
5. Hear a rich, personal semiconductor journey shared publicly for the first time

Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, President of the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA), takes the stage with Dato’ Seri Wong’s Epic Journey: From Intel to Malaysia’s Semiconductor Powerhouse. Malaysia’s chip story began in 1972. He joined Intel in 1976, started MSIA in 2021 and saw the launch of the National Semiconductor Strategy in 2024. Learn from a respected industry veteran who has lived through much of it.
6. The keynote everyone will be talking about

Closing the day, Tan Teng Boo delivers his keynote, AI, Semiconductors and Investment Outlook. Backed by 55 years of investing and 32 years of researching semiconductor companies, he will tackle the big questions. What does the boom mean for Malaysia and the KL stock market? NASDAQ rallied for 26 years from 1974 to early 2000, so can that happen again, or has it already crashed? And how will icapital.biz Berhad share owners benefit?
