Pet parakeets, parrots and birds, in general, can be quite a handful as you have to constantly keep an eye on them.

Case in point, a pet parrot from Thailand was rushed to the veterinary clinic after it was found to have eaten 21 little diamonds off of its owner’s hair clip.

The Animal Space Hospital took to their Facebook page to showcase how a poor, little parrot endured surgery to remove the sparkly objects from its stomach.

They wrote, “Birds are very intelligent and mischievous creatures, often brought to the doctor by their owners because they eat things that should not be eaten. Regardless of whether it is a bell, air pod, nuts and nails. As for this case, the naughty one played and ate the diamonds off of a hair clip on the owner’s head.”

They also showcased X-Rays that show foreign bodies in the parrot’s stomach.

Thankfully, the parrot seems fine as it glances at the diamonds that have been removed from its body, post-surgery.

Based on a report by Thairath, if your pet bird has eaten foreign objects, it is best to take them to a veterinary clinic immediately so that they can have the objects removed.

Signs of this include abnormal bowel movements, lack of appetite and lethargy, among others.
