A 33-year-old man, who is the husband of a nanny, will be charged in court tomorrow (12 May) for allegedly sodomising and killing a nine-month-old baby boy in an apartment unit in Taman Putra Damai, Selangor.
According to Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, the autopsy results on the baby found that there were bruises on the mouth, which is believed to have been caused by suffocation with hands.
Lacerations were also found on the anus of the victim, believed to be due to the insertion of a blunt object, reported Harian Metro.
“The cause of death was because his mouth was cupped until he suffocated,” he said.
Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin added that previously, the man and his 35-year-old wife were remanded for 13 days since 30 April to assist in the investigation of the case.
“The results of the urine screening test on both suspects showed that they tested positive for methamphetamine,” he said, adding that a review of past records show that the man had two criminal records involving drugs while his wife had no criminal record.
He added that the investigation paper has been referred to the Selangor State Director of Prosecution while the man will be charged under Section 302 and Section 377C of the Penal Code tomorrow.
“Meanwhile, his wife will be released and made a prosecution witness and will be charged according to Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
Section 302 of the Penal Code states that “Whoever commits murder shall be punished with death,” while Section 377C states that “Whoever voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature on another person without their consent shall be punished with imprisonment for at least five years and not more than 20 years, and shall also be liable to whipping.”
