She said that when her father was at Sungai Kandis, it showed how dedicated he was towards his country and the people.

In an opinion piece that she recently wrote in to Malaysiakini, she said: “When anyone asks for help, as long as the request is reasonable, he has never put his needs first. It’s always about the other person asking for help.

“He has never abandoned the rakyat, companions, and comrades in challenging times although today, some may be doing just that. For most of his life, DSN (Datuk Sri Najib) has tried to serve the people of Malaysia and make their lives better and the nation better and stronger.”

She also claims that she too felt responsible, alongside her father to show support for Lokman who had braved controversy and press to support her father when he was arrested by the MACC. She said that Lokman Noor Adam had been one of the few who stood outside the building on the night that he was taken in. She said: “It’s only natural that we reciprocate other people’s thoughtful deeds.”

It is nice that Najwa would want to defend her father in the face of all the negative press that is out against him. Nonetheless with the numerous charges put up against him by the high court for his meddling with the rakyat’s money, it is yet to be seen how things will really turn out for him and his family.
