Over the past few months, former Prime Minister and Pekan MP Najib Tun Razak has been documenting his antics on his social media accounts. From turning himself into a meme with “malu apa, bossku“, to even recording a song to troll the Pakatan Harapan government, he’s definitely been keeping himself busy!
Now, according to the Malay Mail, Najib caused a commotion at a Tesco branch in Semenyih last night (13th February) when large groups of shoppers greeted him like a celebrity, taking selfies with him. Najib was also spotted wearing his now infamous “Bossku” hoodie.

The former Prime Minister also posted a photo of the commotion on his Facebook page, saying,
“I just went to Tesco Semenyih to buy groceries. Why is everyone following me?”

Speaking to reporters at the scene, he added that he did not find it offensive that PKR deputy president and Economic Affairs Minister Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali recently called him a thief, labelling him “pencuriku“. He was quoted by Malaysiakini as saying,
“I am a thief who steals people’s hearts.”
Najib’s words resulted in cheers among the crowd that gathered around him.
According to Free Malaysia Today, the former Prime Minister stated he was asked by local leaders to shop at Tesco Semenyih as well as to survey the situation. Referring to the upcoming Semenyih by-election this 2nd March, he told the daily,
“From the support I see tonight, Umno has won. Hopefully. As it is, I did not expect such an extraordinary reception from the people here.”
“What we see here is that the rakyat want to be near me as a leader. Hopefully, this will translate into support, God willing.”
Earlier this week, the corruption trial involving the Pekan MP’s alleged involvement in the infamous 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal was postponed indefinitely. He was previously due to go on trial for the first time this Tuesday (12th February).
