Chinese New Year is almost here and Malaysians are anticipating the upcoming Year of the Dragon in their own special way. But one particular sign of CNY season approaching has made netizens buzz with excitement in the form of CNY trucks!

No CNY is complete without CNY greetings, don’t you agree? So, no wonder Malaysians have been clamouring to take pictures of these green Gong HEI Trucks which are adorned with catchy CNY greetings.

Each of these CNY-themed trucks features its own unique and quirky Lunar New Year greeting in either English or Chinese such as “满载而归喜庆团员 (On the way to complete the reunions)”, “喜上加囍 Hei (Double Happiness)” and “满心欢喜 Hei (Full of joy)”.

Notice that most of these phrases use the word “Hei”? Aside from being the first three letters of Heineken®, Hei (喜) is also culturally significant as the Cantonese word expresses jubilations of a joyful celebration. So these punny yet iconic CNY phrases will definitely amplify Malaysian youngsters’ joyful spirit for the upcoming Year of the Dragon!

But looking at all these people taking pics of these CNY trucks, one would wonder “What else is the rage about?” As it turns out, festive spirit isn’t the only reason netizens are searching for these trucks!
