Pertubuhan Keselamataan Sosial (PERKESO), also known as SOCSO, launched a free health screening program since 2013 if you didn’t already know. The program caters to members who are working and 40 years of age and above.
Previously, eligible members were only given health screening vouchers distributed through their employers. The vouchers state the member’s name and I.C. number to prevent them from being sold to anyone.
But in some instances, certain employers have failed to distribute the vouchers to their employees. To tackle this, PERKESO has also introduced an online voucherless method where you will receive a voucher number by SMS after signing up online.
Here are the steps for you to sign up for the voucherless method:
- Go to https://sihat.perkeso.gov.my/v2/myhspstatus.html
- Enter your I.C. number.
- Enter your mobile phone number and request for your TAC number.
- The TAC number will be sent to your phone via SMS.
- Enter the TAC number received on the website.
- The voucher number of the free health screening program will then be sent to you via SMS.
- You can now go to a nearby clinic along with you I.C. and the voucher number for your free health screening.
Health screenings for females include blood and urine test, blood pressure, pap smears, mammograms and a complete report by the doctor.
On the other hand, males can only have their blood and urine test as well as check their blood pressure.
For more information, you can email hsp@perkeso.gov.my or visit the SeHAT website at sihat.perkeso.gov.my.
In our opinion, our readers especially the ladies should use this opportunity to go for their pap smear and mammograms. It’s worth it!
