A Malaysian businesswoman had her Bentley seized by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) today.
She was caught driving without a valid road tax for nearly eight years!

The discovery was made during Operasi Khas (Special Op) Luxury, which was carried out today (9 February) at Jalan Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur. JPJ officers stopped the vehicle upon realising it lacked both a valid road tax and insurance.
When questioned, the businesswoman claimed she had “overlooked” the matter, leading her to drive the luxury vehicle without valid documents since 2018.
Renewals were usually handled by family members
JPJ confirmed that the luxury car belonged to the woman, who also failed to produce a valid driver’s license. She further explained that she had forgotten about the requirements because her family members usually assisted her with document renewals.
Under the Road Transport Act 1987, the Bentley was confiscated by JPJ for further action, as reported by Harian Metro.

This is not the first time JPJ has caught luxury car owners skipping renewals. In April 2024, a 59-year-old man was caught driving his BMW without road tax for seven years. Shortly after, another driver committed a similar offence, likewise claiming they had simply “forgotten.”
Driving without a valid road tax is an offence under Section 23(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. If convicted, offenders can face a fine of up to RM2,000. Additionally, driving without valid insurance is a serious breach of road safety regulations.
