The driver of a Singapore-registered vehicle allegedly sped off after refuelling at a gas station in Johor on Monday (July 29).

In a viral Facebook post by Eddie Koh in the group 柔新关卡Both Checkpoint 分享站, the driver of a Red Toyota Harrier refuelled at a gas station near the 2nd Link between Malaysia and Singapore. Soon after, the driver sped off and 2 of the gas station employees tried to run after the car but to no avail.

The driver escaped and disappeared within seconds.

Eddie was NOT happy to see how the driver abused the trust of the employees who allowed him to fill up the tank by himself, only for the driver to get away with free petrol.

“I don’t know if you have Alzheimer’s or if you’re just forgetful. The staff were running after you and crying, trying to tell you to stop the car.”

Eddie was at the scene and felt prompted to chase down the driver of the Harrier himself.

“I tried to go after you and signaled you to stop, but you dared to ignore me.”

Eddie, however, has some information about the driver that might be helpful for the public and the police to identify.

“It was a Chinese driver in his 60s or 70s with gray hair. Your shameless act may have caused the employees a pay deduction.”

In the meantime, the Chief Police of the Iskandar Puteri district in Johor Bahru yesterday (July 30) said in a statement that PDRM has yet to receive any official report on the matter.

Do report the matter to the authorities if you happen to spot the car, and don’t try to take matters into your own hands.
