A woman recently shared on Threads about her struggles trying to support her family financially while dealing with a recent scoliosis diagnosis.
The woman, who goes by the pseudonym Jenny and wishes to remain anonymous, claimed in her post that she was kicked out of her family home and disowned by her parents back in November last year.

M’sian woman opens up about juggling family responsibilities while dealing with scoliosis
The story goes that Jenny’s father allegedly stopped supporting the family in January 2025, leaving her and her sister to take over the responsibilities. They had to split the rent equally and even add an extra RM300 or more for groceries and their other siblings’ school needs.
“My sister had been helping while waiting for me to finish my studies. I only started working in March, right after graduation. We would split the RM500 rent, and sometimes I had to add another RM300 or more for groceries and my siblings’ school needs, which left me with no savings at all,” she wrote.
She later recalled a moment when her father had even dragged her out of the car twice while yelling at her by the side of the road.
“There was a moment when my father was driving fast, yelling and screaming at me while my mom and I stayed silent. He stopped twice by the roadside to drag me out of the car, and I guess I hurt his ego. I didn’t even cry until I got into the shower.”

She also claimed that she was later diagnosed with scoliosis in October, leaving her with severe back pain.
“My sister quit her job later because she was grieving the death of her friend. And later that same month, I was diagnosed with scoliosis. It broke my heart because I hate the burden I’ve been carrying,” she explained.
Feeling overwhelmed by everything she had gone through, she decided to leave the house for a walk, hoping to find some peace of mind.
“I told my mom I was going out since the next day was my day off. Later that night, she asked if I was going to come home, and I said no. And that’s how it all started.”

Her mother told her to move out after she spent money on graduation clothes
In a separate incident, she shared how she asked her parents for help to get to work, offering to pay for the gas despite only having RM10 left.
“Knowing they didn’t have money for gas, I offered to cover it, but got no response. I waited until 9 AM, only to find them upstairs watching a movie. That day, I decided to just go out and find some peace for myself. That was the start of them refusing to send me to work.”
Later in November, Jenny began preparing for her graduation, which ended up causing tension with her parents.
“I bought some cheap stuff on TikTok, a kebaya for RM50, shoes for RM30, and a few more things, all under RM250. But my mom later turned it into an issue, texting me long paragraphs about how inconsiderate I was for making my siblings pick up the parcels, even though I was at work paying RM22 a day for my e-hailing rides.”
Not responding to her mother’s texts, Jenny was allegedly told to pack her things and move out, and was forbidden from contacting any family members. The next morning, she moved out and rented a place.

“She told me to leave the house while I was at work. I got another message saying that if I didn’t respond, they would ‘throw my stuff outside’ and that I was never to contact any of my siblings, aunts, uncles, or grandparents.
“I did reply this time, apologising openly and saying I would move out as soon as I finished work. The next morning, I received a short message from my mother saying that their prayers for me had already ‘ended’ even before I moved out.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Jenny shared some advice for anyone going through something similar: “always put your mental health first, no matter what”.
