As protectors and guiders, parents are essential to the growth of their children, and the sacrifices they make can never be underestimated or underappreciated.
A recent TikTok has been making waves online after a pair of parents showed just how dedicated they are to their child. Malaysian mother Asmida posted the clip to her account @nrasmdaazmy97 of herself and her husband travelling home in the pouring rain in Balik Pulau, Penang.
Riding a motorcycle, Asmida slowly pans the camera to her husband, who is driving the motorcycle. Under his jacket, their eldest child sits comfortably on her father’s lap, fully protected from the rain. Momentarily, Asmida holds her child’s hand before the family continues on their journey.
Going viral on TikTok and receiving over 7 million views at the time of writing, many Malaysians praised Asmida and her husband for doing the best they can with what they have, ensuring their child’s comfort and protection even though it was raining heavily.
“She is so cute, I completely understand what her father’s heart feels like in this moment,” wrote one user.
Multiple users also sent prayers and words of encouragement to the couple, hoping that they will not have to struggle in time to come, while others related to the duo as parents.
On the other hand, multiple commenters spoke on the experiences an eldest daughter will face, such as the one Asmida’s daughter had in the video, saying that these moments will make her stronger in time to come.
“From this, we should teach our daughters to not fear difficulty in life when the people who love us are with us and are by our side. God will always ease our burdens,” penned a user.
