A wedding is a big deal, and when something unfortunate comes up, it gets complicated when you have to postpone the ceremony.
A man in Alor Setar did not want to adjust his wedding date even when he faced an accident. So, he did the next best thing, which was to improvise.
According to Oriental Daily, the determined man, Ibrahim, 26, wed his bride, Aida, 26, at a hall in Mergong on Friday, 29 July.
The groom made a grand entrance when he arrived at the hall… in an ambulance and on a stretcher! He wore a dashing set of traditional clothes and was wheeled into the auditorium next to his bride for the ceremony.
It is said that the groom was in an accident a week before the wedding, and he sustained a fracture on his left foot. He had to undergo an operation for that, and he was very reluctant to change the wedding date. So, he chose to proceed with the ceremony.
As he had undergone surgery, he could not bend his leg, so it would be inconvenient to ride in a car. And that was how he came up with commissioning an ambulance from Mesra Sayang Volunteer Ambulance so that he could attend his wedding.
On the big day, the ambulance travelled 20 kilometres to pick him up and send him to the hall. The chairman of the Mesra Sayang Volunteer Ambulance has said that this is the first time they have provided such a service, but nonetheless, they were happy to have taken part in it.
This is undoubtedly a way to make an unforgettable entrance. We hope that Ibrahim and Aida will have a wonderful life ahead!
