A Malaysian woman is sharing the most insane job application experience she has ever endured, after a male employer had allegedly set an unbelievable and uncomfortable condition for all new incoming staff.
The woman, azweenmuzanicantik, took to her Threads account to share how she had applied for a project engineer position with a company she came across on LinkedIn. During the interview process, the male employer insisted that all new staff members must shave their heads bald to join the company. The reason for this is that he claims to support a cancer NGO.
It’s a mandatory condition to join the company

She wrote, “The most ridiculous interview experience. The company’s boss called me to schedule an interview. He said they’re an oil and gas company. But, there are mandatory conditions. The first condition is that staff members must shave their heads bald because the boss is a supporter of cancer NGOs, even if the staff members wear headscarves.”
“The second condition is that during the interview, the boss has to look at our hair. Then, I asked, ‘What does my hair have to do with the work?’ He said it’s because he “supports cancer NGOs, so we have to feel for those with cancer who are bald“.
“I hung up the phone. Before even starting work, the boss is already crazy.”
She shared screenshots of their WhatsApp conversation
Considering how unbelievable the situation seems, she also included screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation with the employer where he insisted that his staff adhered to this rule.

The employer said, “All of my female staff members cut their hair short for 3 months,” to which she asked, “Why do we have to cut our hair? Can we get a woman to cut our hair?”
“I’m an ex-hairstylist, and I want hair to be short and neat per our standard haircut policy. I will only cut it once,” the employer responded.
She then brought up the concern that she wears a headscarf and does not feel comfortable with a man seeing her hair, but the employer again insisted that he would only cut her hair once. After that, she can leave her hair to grow as she wishes.
It’s safe to say that she didn’t accept the job offer, adding that she would much rather prioritise her religious beliefs of not allowing men to see her hair.
“I think I know this employer!”
Netizens shared that they, too, may have stumbled upon this company and employer while adding their own experiences.

“I think I know this company. I’ve asked (for a job) before, and they asked if I could cut my hair short because the company’s owner is a cancer (NGO) supporter.”

“Oh please! I think I know this guy. He, indeed, approaches people with the same excuse. He likes to see women’s hair, he’ll cut hair for free, using the excuse of there being a CSR project with a cancer society but when asked, he won’t tell which one. But, he approaches tudung (headscarf) women!”

“Way back when, I was active in business networking and that’s how I know him. He said he was in the business of buying and selling ships. But, the thing he spoke about the most was hair. He wanted to cut my hair and even came to my pet shop with human hair, a shaver set and everything.”
“He said “I can even cut your hair in your office“. I suspect he has a hair fetish.”
