Malaysians love when people of different races speak another language, but even more so when they start singing a song in a different language!

@misha_nantha reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ to share an unforgettable experience she had while she and her sister were walking at a bookstore in Kuala Lumpur.

It really got to her heart

Misha shared how she witnessed something amazing as a random Chinese Muslim woman from China (@meiling_maryam) and her sister (@dusha_nanthakumar) who is a Malaysian Hindu woman came together to perform a cover of a Chinese song called “Xiao Xing Yun”, which translates to “A Little Happiness”.

She explained that she was initially recording a video of her sister playing the piano when the other Chinese Muslim woman joined in, and they spontaneously started a cover together.

“The fact that it was a Chinese song sung by a Malaysian Indian woman and a Chinese Muslim woman from China really touched my heart. It showed how boundless the connection was across nationality, race, religion, color, and status. It was truly heartwarming.”

“It was spontaneous and so seamless to say”

Misha went on to say that she believes music brings people together and can touch the hearts of those playing it, as well as those listening or watching it unfold right before their eyes.

“They just happened to meet and spontaneously started playing. A few others were recording them singing, which drew the attention of people around.”

She also described the warmth she felt in her heart as she watched the chemistry between the 2 strangers, who shared a passion for music, even though they didn’t know each other.

Have the courage and curiosity to learn, and enjoy the process!

Misha concluded the interview by saying,

“As a pianist, I believe there’s a part of us that naturally dances to the rhythm of music. Some of us may develop a deeper passion for music and dive into it wholeheartedly. Whatever path you take, embrace the flow and have the courage and curiosity to learn. Enjoy the process!”
