Despite being careful and taking safety precautions, sometimes we just can’t avoid accidents on the road, all thanks to the handiwork of irresponsible parties.

In a viral Facebook video originally shared by Marcus Tan, the dashcam footage shows a driver on the road in Klang at midnight. There were barely any vehicles on the road so an accident was unlikely, right?

The driver, however, suddenly lost control of her car, causing the car to spin a few rounds before it stopped and faced the incoming vehicles.

Fortunately, the car did not flip, and the driver immediately flashed her high beams to alert the incoming vehicles about the danger.

The 2nd car got lucky but unfortunately, we can’t say the same for the 3rd car who hit the divider. Well, what could possibly cause all cars to lose control at that very specific part of the road?

According to Marcus, unknown parties had spilled oil on that part of the road earlier, waiting for accidents to take place.

“If you’re driving around Taman Sri Andalas, near the hospital, please drive safe and slow. People are spilling oil on the road.”

And no, they didn’t spill the oil for fun. It was allegedly a modus operandi of the call men around the area. In case you are not aware, a call man refers to a person who attends to road accidents and offers their workshop services, or at least calls a tow truck for you.

Marcus said that once the oil “takes effect” and causes damage to your car, that’s when they’ll appear out of nowhere as if everything is pure coincidence.

“They’ll ask if your car has sustained any damages, and offer you the business card of workshops.”

Marcus also said that he got the video from WeChat, where it was initially circulating. You can watch the dashcam footage below, and truthfully, we’re pretty nervous to drive anywhere now.

To our Klang friends, have you encountered such a situation in the area before? If you happen to know any “oil spillage” hotspots, do let us know in the comment sections!
