Most people who get caught going against the law would either give in and accept defeat, or choose between fight or flight. We’ve often seen people choosing the flight option and fleeing in hopes of escaping, only to be caught later.

But rarely do we hear of someone choosing to fight.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) of Pulau Pinang took to their Facebook page to share how a foreign national had gotten cocky and chose not to cooperate with JPJ officers when he got caught driving a lorry without a license or proper documentation.

They wrote, “A foreign driver (Pemandu Warga Asing – PeWA) who was driving a lorry decided to “show off” his attitude by challenging JPJ enforcement and refused to show a drivers’ license during a PeWA Ops conducted around Taman Arowana, Seberang Jaya, yesterday afternoon (May 14).”

“The offense that was committed (is that he was) without a Goods Vehicle Driving License (GDL). JPJ also seized the lorry.”

Their operation also proved fruitful as they managed to confiscate a total of 15 motorcycles from foreigners with either an expired license or without proper documentation at all.

“This enforcement will be carried out continuously from time to time and strict action will be taken against uncompromising foreign drivers who fail to comply with the rules and laws in force,” they added.

It is truly important for foreigners to follow the laws of our country, especially on the roads where dangerous accidents happen on a daily basis.
