Regardless of your hatred, a racist remark is NEVER an option.

Domino’s Pizza recently went viral for an improper remark allegedly made by 1 of its cashiers. We shall warn you that the remark does not sound pleasant at all.

“At this noisy place with the moaning sound, like have s*x every day. Stupid Islam.”

The incident took place at the Bayan Lepas outlet in Penang, and social media users were quick to point their fingers at the cashier on duty because the remark was printed on the receipt.

However, did the cashier ignite the fire?

In a Facebook post by Bayan Lepas’s ADUN last night (May 15), YB Dato’ Azrul Mahathir Bin Aziz said he had visited the said outlet to investigate the matter. Like everyone else, Dato’ Azrul was misled by the information spread online.

The remark was made by an unknown customer who made the order online. The racist remark was then automatically printed on the receipt, and went viral online with a misleading context.

“The remark section was abused by the provocator,” Dato’ Azrul said.

Despite the name and the address stated on the receipt, Azrul confirmed that the information disclosed was FALSE.

The politician added that Domino’s Bayan Lepas has since lodged a police report about the matter.

“A police report has been made and hopefully, the person who started this provocation will be caught. I also urged the public not to fall for this provocation.”

In an official statement by PDRM in Bayan Lepas this morning (May 16), the police confirmed that they had received a report last night around 8:30pm about the matter.

The incident is now investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offense. PDRM also said the order was made online via the Domino’s application.

“We would also like to remind everyone not to come up with any speculations that could damage public’s harmony.”

There is never a reason for us to make an offensive remark. As Malaysians, we should be so lucky to live in a multi-racial and multicultural country.
